What was America Built on? Harry S. Truman said, “America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination, and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand”. Yes! America was built on extremely tough and hard work. It was muscle power, long hours, and the sheer determination to just get the job done and to do the job with extreme pride.

In the previous administration that concept of work and pride took a 360 degree turn. Our Nation fell to “Equity Action Plans” which allowed discrimination and provided a system of extreme public waste. Encouraged the promotion of unqualified individuals and the award of contracts discriminating against qualified companies. These policies crippled the workforce and provided reckless and wasteful spending.

On January 20, 2025 Presidential Action, Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing ended all discriminatory programs. This included diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and all diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) policies, programs, preferences and mandate policies. The order also stated “terminate, to the maximum extent allowed by law, all DEI, DEIA and “environmental justice” offices and positions (including but not limited to “Chief Diversity Officer” positions); all “equity action plans,” “equity” actions, initiatives, or programs, “equity-related” grants or contracts; and all DEI or DEIA performance requirement for employees, contractors, or grantee. The Executive order stated “Americans deserve a government committed to serving every person with equal dignity and respect, and to expending precious taxpayer resources only on making America great.

This Executive Order has restored America to its prior hard work and determination which history provides is a very big success story. It’s the same America that I grew up in. I personally maneuver around growing up with brothers and employment in industries which were male dominated. I learned early that hard work, long hours, more preparation, and innovation was recognized over entitled employees striving for mediocrity, The sense of pride taken for the recognition and achievement was exhilarating to know that it was achieve based upon my qualifications, merits and the time given to achieve the goal(s). Once you rely upon anything more than your qualifications and your hard work, and your quality of work to achieve anything, you have sold yourself short of the achievement.

America is on the right path to remain as a global force. The return of our workforce for employment based upon qualifications and quality hard work will continue to provide the world with and exemplary model of how America was built and how America continues to remain a success story.
